Testing jsMath

This is a test of jsMath, which I have now enabled on the blog. JsMath is an implementation of the TeX math layout engine, in JavaScript. To view the math, you need only install a few fonts, which you can find at this font download page.

Here’s an example: the Euler product identity for the Riemann zeta function:

\[ \zeta(s) = \prod_p \frac{1}{1-p^{-s}} = \sum_{n=0}^\infty \frac{1}{n^s}\]

where $s \in \left\{z \in \mathbb{C}: \Re(z) > 1 \right\}$ and $p$ runs over the prime numbers.

That is pretty sweet. How do you integrate jsMath with WordPress? Is there a plugin, or did you have to hack your theme?

    Ed:

I hacked my theme. The details of how to install jsmath on your server are given at the jsmath web site. You basically download the scripts, put them somewhere that your web server can read, and add the load script tag to your headers.

There should probably be a plugin, but php scares me, and this just worked…
